The wide-angle view shows the stadium nestled between green hills and the flat, sprawling production halls of the Kocaeli industrial zone.

Inside, the surface is a hybrid grass system, a roll-on pitch that allows for quicker repairs than traditional turf, a necessity for a venue hosting both domestic league games and international fixtures.

The location dictates the atmosphere more than the architecture. There is a constant breeze off the Sea of Marmara, the heat took the sting out of it on the rare sunny days, but the wind usually finds a way through the gaps in the stands. Kocaelispor has played here since the opening game in September 2018, a period that has seen the club bounce between divisions while the stadium itself has remained a constant fixture in the landscape. The capacity has grown slowly, seat by seat, as renovations added more VIP boxes and restaurant spaces following their return to the top flight.

Access has changed with the times. A new road connection opened recently, cutting the journey from the city centre, and the tram line extension is due to bridge the gap between the bus terminal and the ground. For now, however, the drive still passes through the edge of town, where the stadium stands as a distinct landmark against the backdrop of the hills.
