York Lions Stadium
York Lions Stadium sits on Keele Street, on the York University campus. The building itself dates to the run-up to the 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games, when the venue went up as the athletics site for those Games.
The turf tells its own story. The stadium opened with a natural pitch and a running track. That changed in early 2021, when the grass gave way to an artificial surface certified by FIFA and World Rugby.
And rent it they have. Inter Toronto FC has called it home since the Canadian Premier League's first season in 2019. AFC Toronto is set to add Northern Super League football from 2025. Beyond league fixtures, the stadium hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2017 North American Indigenous Games, served as a venue for the Invictus Games that same September, and staged the 2019 NCCWMA Masters Athletics Championships.
