Zhengzhou Hanghai Stadium

Zhengzhou Hanghai Stadium sits in the Guancheng District, but what sets it apart is the ownership. In December 2009, the club became the first in China to purchase the state-owned property rights for its home ground, securing them from Central China Real Estate Limited for approximately 118 million RMB. This is a structural shift more significant than the stadium’s appearance.

The venue opened in September 2002 and has remained structurally unchanged since. It serves as the home for Henan FC, a team that has played under various names, including Henan Jianye and Henan Songshan Longmen. The pitch is natural grass. While the capacity is listed at 29,860, the ground has occasionally seen crowds reach this limit, such as during a match against Dalian Yifang.

Perhaps the most notable fixture hosted here was a friendly international between the China national team and Iran in September 2010, a game the hosts lost 0–2. Beyond football, the stadium accommodates concerts and athletics, a common practice for multi-purpose venues in the region. The name itself is derived from the nearby Hanghai Road, anchoring the stadium to its specific location within the city rather than a broader historical narrative.
