Zhetysu Stadium

Two names came before the current one. Zhetysu, the name it carries today, is also the name of the club that plays here.

Its present shape dates from the rebuild of 2005–2006, carried out by a South Korean construction firm for 200 million tenge, roughly 1.5 million dollars. Capacity rose from 4,000 to 5,000 in the process.

A second round of work followed in 2024, costing 905 million tenge: a new running track, repairs to the main entrance and the commentary box, artificial turf on the reserve pitch. The spending later drew questions from the authorities.

The largest occasion came on 29 May 2019, when Taldykorgan staged the Kazakhstan Cup final and Kairat beat Taraz 2–1. Kazakhstan's under-21 side played two European qualifiers here in October 2021, beating Liechtenstein 1–0 before losing 0–1 to Greece three days later.

Filling the place is a different question. The biggest crowd in the available match reports, 4,000, came for Kairat's visit in June 2025; across the 2026 season the average has run near 1,560, so the upper rows of the rebuilt stand rarely see much use. Between fixtures the ground turns to other work, hosting city-day galas and youth festivals on the same grass.
