Playto United edge past Kwara United in tight affair

Playto United saw off Kwara United 1:0 on Sunday at home in the NPFL Regular Season round two. The hosts held firm after Agahowa's second-half strike, taking all three points from a match that never quite settled into rhythm.

And here's the thing: the goal took until the twenty-ninth minute to arrive. Agahowa picked it up, found space in the box and finished cleanly. Kwara United had their chances to respond but could not find the net.

The yellow cards came at the usual moments — one in the forty-fifth, another sixty-two minutes in. By then both sides had settled into a cautious pattern, trading possession but rarely breaking through.

We had called for the home side before kickoff, 59 per cent confidence on a Playto win. It was a narrow margin but the analysis held up. Kwara United simply had nothing to do all evening, and that told you everything.

Playto United dominated the numbers. They registered 114 attacks against 90, took ten corners to none, and held 58 per cent possession. Six shots on target produced the winner; Kwara United managed just one.

The result leaves Playto United tenth in the table with three points from two games. Kwara United remain fifteenth on one point, their draw against Kano Pillars in the previous round now looking like a rare bright spot.
