Jhon Jairo Velásquez Turga

Fortaleza is Jhon Jairo Velásquez Turga's third club since the start of 2025, arriving in mid-year after a spell at Deportes Quindío that itself followed a stint in Portugal. The attacking midfielder is a graduate of Independiente Santa Fe's academy, where he made his professional debut in 2014 and won the Categoría Primera A Clausura in his first season, followed by the Superliga de Colombia in 2015. Loan spells at Llaneros and Patriotas Boyacá gave him regular football away from Bogotá, and at Patriotas he scored twice in eighteen appearances.

He returned to Santa Fe in 2019 and stayed for three years, adding a further Superliga title in 2021 after scoring four goals in 2019 and five more in 2021. That form earned him a call-up to a Colombia national team training camp under Reinaldo Rueda in August 2021, though it did not translate into a confirmed senior cap. In June 2022 he left for SC Farense, spending two seasons in Portugal's Segunda Liga before returning to Colombian football as a free agent with Deportes Quindío in March 2025.

At Fortaleza he has featured in ten matches and scored once in the Categoría Primera A. Across his career, the transfers themselves have said as much about his path as the trophies: every move, from Santa Fe to Farense and on to Quindío, has gone through without a disclosed fee. His medal collection nonetheless includes a Copa Sudamericana winner's medal from his time on Santa Fe's books, alongside the domestic honours picked up in both spells at the club.
