About the player
Mateo Burdisso broke into professional football through Patronato's youth ranks before moving to Estudiantes de La Plata in early 2020, where he spent three seasons and won the Copa Argentina in 2023. He left as a free agent at the start of 2024 and returned to Patronato, where he stayed until January 2025.
From there he crossed into Ecuadorian football with Delfín SC, again on a free transfer. He made 35 appearances for the club in the 2025 season and added a further 15 in 2026. In August 2026 he moved on once more, joining Sociedad Deportiva Aucas as a free agent, taking the place vacated by John Ontaneda.
Burdisso has not been capped at senior level for Argentina. He did train with the Argentina under-17 "Ascenso" selection in February 2026, though that call-up has not translated into appearances at youth level in official competitions.
