About the player
Mateo Rodas has built a defender's career on movement rather than a single defining transfer or crowd moment. A centre-back from Bogotá, he began at Deportivo Cali in 2017 without breaking into the first-team fixture list, then moved through Barranquilla F.C. and Tigres F.C. on free transfers, the latter spell producing three goals in 28 league appearances. A stint in the United States followed at Orlando City B, before he returned home to Colombia in 2021.
It was at Patriotas Boyacá that Rodas found his most settled run, across two spells either side of a short move to Alianza Petrolera. Between 2021 and 2024 he made 86 appearances for the club, scoring four goals across those years. That output, added to his goals elsewhere, has taken his senior career total to around eleven.
He has not played for Colombia at senior international level, and his career so far has been built entirely on free transfers rather than fees. Following the dissolution of La Equidad FC, his registration passed to Internacional de Bogotá as the successor to the club's roster, where he continues his career.
