About the player
Michael Collodi came up through the FC Dallas Academy before taking four years at Columbia University, where he made 58 appearances for the Lions. That path meant no first-team senior football until January 2024, when he signed with North Texas SC, the club's MLS NEXT Pro affiliate.
The season that followed made the wait look worthwhile. Collodi started 23 games, kept 6 clean sheets and posted a 73.1% save percentage, form that earned him the MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Year award, a place in the MLS NEXT Pro Best XI and the league's Goalkeeper of the Month prize for May 2024. He was also in goal when North Texas SC beat Philadelphia Union II 3–2 to win the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro Cup in November 2024.
That form was rewarded in January 2025 with a Homegrown Player contract at FC Dallas, making him the club's 40th Homegrown signing. He did not have to wait long for his senior debut: on 22 March 2025 he started against Real Salt Lake, kept a clean sheet in a 1–0 win and was named Man of the Match.
Earlier in his development, Collodi represented the United States at U-14 and U-16 level, collecting 3 caps for the U-16s.
