Patrickson Luiggy Delgado Villa

Patrickson Delgado's first professional goal did not come in a league match but in the U.S. Open Cup, against Tampa Bay Rowdies on 22 May 2024; three days later he opened his MLS account against Real Salt Lake. It was a fast introduction to North American football for a player who had come up through Independiente del Valle, making his debut there in 2020 and spending the 2022–23 season on loan at Jong Ajax in the Dutch second tier before returning to Ecuador in July 2023.

FC Dallas brought him in on loan in January 2024, and he settled quickly, finishing his debut MLS season with four goals and two assists in 23 appearances. The club made the move permanent in January 2025, exercising a purchase option reported at around €2.5 million and tying him to a contract through 2027 with a club option for a further year.

At Independiente del Valle, Delgado had already won honours before his move abroad: the Ecuadorian Serie A title in 2022, the Copa Sudamericana that same year, and the Recopa Sudamericana in 2023. His experience with Ecuador's youth sides has been extensive, including the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup and the 2023 South American U-20 Championship, and he received senior call-ups in September 2022 and September 2024, though he had not made his senior international debut as of early 2026.
