About the player
Zakaria Taifi is a product of the Orlando City academy, having joined the club's youth system in 2015 at the age of nine after coming through Orlando City Soccer School – Seminole. He worked his way through every age group and captained the club's U-17 side to the MLS NEXT Cup title in 2021.
He signed an MLS NEXT Pro contract with Orlando City B in 2024, scoring his first professional goal on 9 March 2025 in a 2-1 win over Columbus Crew 2. His first-team debut followed on 19 April 2025, coming on as a substitute against CF Montréal. He signed his first contract with the senior side in December 2024, a deal running through 2027 with a club option for 2028, and is recognised as the 19th homegrown player in Orlando City's history.

Taifi holds American citizenship and has represented the United States at U-18 and U-19 level. He is also eligible for Morocco through family heritage and was called up to that country's U-23 squad for a training camp in Salé.
