HB U19

Tórshavn's harbour gave the club both its name and its purpose: Havnar Bóltfelag formed among the port town's footballers in 1904, and more than a century on it remains a central institution in the capital. No other side in the Faroe Islands has matched its haul of league titles, twenty-four in all, stretching from the 1950s through wins in 2018 and 2020. The cup record runs longer still, thirty wins across seven decades, with the most recent arriving in 2024.

HB shares Gundadalur with B36 Tórshavn, and the meetings between the two clubs from the same city are the fixture supporters build a season around. The ground holds around 5,000, modest by most measures but rarely short of noise when the capital derby comes round.

Gunnar Nielsen left Gundadalur for Manchester City and later Blackburn Rovers, though the club's most unusual export went into politics rather than football: Kaj Leo Johannesen played for HB before becoming Prime Minister of the Faroe Islands. The red and black shirts, with their vertical stripes, have stayed the club's mark through all of it.

The current generation is being tested a level up from domestic football. HB's under-19 side has been competing in the UEFA Youth League's Domestic Champions Path, meeting Progrès Niederkorn's under-19s in the 2024/25 campaign.
