International teams have found their way through the years here. Inter Milan let the tie slip against Paris Saint-Germain in 2019, while Manchester United visitors in 2007 found the atmosphere more subdued than the occasion might have promised. The pitch itself, a rectangle of natural grass measuring 105 by 68 metres, has weathered the storm of a January 2024 concert that left it damaged and required repair. The cost of that damage, like the cost of the 2005 rebuild, is not recorded.

What remains visible is the commitment to hosting events beyond local football. The stands, though modest in scale, have held crowds exceeding 18,000 for a match between China and Portugal in 2002. The table goes out of the window in these games, as the Macau national team has discovered playing at home against opposition that travels from across the continent. The stadium does not pretend to be something it is not — it is a functional space, built for an archipelago that has little else of comparable size.
