The Doğupark Nuri Asan Tesisleri was laid down in 1990, when the municipality handed over the land to Samsunspor for a symbolic fee. This is not where the first team plays its home games; that happens at the Samsun 19 Mayıs Stadium .
The building is named after Nuri Asan, a former coach who died in the 1980 Adana train disaster. The amphitheatre next door has hosted festivals and concerts, but that is another story. This place is for the work of the week: the drills, the sessions, the minutes played out in driving rain.
