Estádio Brigadeiro Médico José da Silva Porto
Fortaleza, Brazil
The Estádio Brigadeiro Médico José da Silva Porto stands quietly inside the Base Aérea de Fortaleza, a military base in the Aerolândia neighborhood. It does not announce itself with grand architecture. The structure is functional, built for those who play and watch within its perimeter.
The view from the stands is close to the pitch, where natural grass has been maintained since the club’s early years. Calouros do Ar Futebol Clube, founded on 1 January 1952, played its first professional match here in 1953. The ground witnessed the team’s only Campeonato Cearense title in 1955.
The stadium held approximately 3,000 spectators. Today, it is no longer open to the public. The gates are closed to outside fans, and the space is reserved for military personnel. The air force base remains active, and the stadium sits within its boundaries, unchanged in purpose. The stadium does not host matches anymore.
