Estádio Municipal Alfredo João Krieck

There is a ground in Rio do Sul that does not pretend to be anything other than what it is. Built in 1968 in the Canoas neighborhood, Estádio Municipal Alfredo João Krieck is owned by the city hall, though for years it has hosted the home matches of Santa Catarina Clube.

The club has moved around the state since 1998, playing in Blumenau, Navegantes, and Imbituba before settling in Rio do Sul. They have played here since 2022, when a stable partnership was reached with the municipal authorities. The stadium carries the name of a former mayor, Alfredo João Krieck, and the locals call it "Alfredão".

The pitch is natural grass. In November 2025 a new Bermuda surface was laid with a fishbone drainage system and a semi-artesian well, part of a renovation that cost over a million and a quarter reais. This followed a flood in November 2023 when heavy rain submerged the stands and the playing area, requiring repairs that exceeded 150,000 reais.

Capacity is listed as 7,000 in most places, though a report from February 2026 mentioned an attendance of 14,000 for a Copa do Brasil tie against Cuiabá. That figure is higher than the official number and may include standing-room overflow. The stadium does not have its own website; management falls under the city hall and the club.

It is a municipal facility in a middle-sized town, kept in use by a club that has found a home there. The pitch is cut up sometimes, but the drainage works.
