The locker rooms received upgrades too.

During the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations, the stadium served a different purpose. It was not used for matches, but rather as a training base for the Egypt and Benin national teams. For a few weeks, the quiet streets echoed with the sounds of professional drills, though the matches themselves took place elsewhere. The renaming of the venue to honour Edelfride Palhares da Costa, a local legend who played before moving to Portugal, adds a layer of history that is not always visible to the casual observer. The name on the gate has changed, but the game played within it remains the same.

Other tenants, such as GD Isaac de Benguela, share the pitch occasionally, keeping the schedule full even when the big matches are not happening. There are no records of concerts or massive crowds here. The attendance record has not been set, nor broken. It is simply a place where the local teams play their games, weathering the storms of the years without fanfare.
