Mandalar Thiri Stadium

It is a single, continuous skin of metal panels supported by a lattice of steel beams, curving down to shelter the concrete tiers below. Red seats sit beneath green, which sit beneath blue, creating a flat, geometric pattern that looks cleaner from the inside than the brickwork of older grounds.

It means the players do not have to run through the crowd to escape, but it also means the roar from the supporters does not hit them quite so hard on the touchline. The grass is green and natural, cut short and marked with white chalk.

It is isolated, quiet, and built for purpose rather than for the noise of the surrounding neighbourhood.
