The most striking feature of the Şenol Güneş Spor Kompleksi is its position on land reclaimed from the Black Sea. The complex replaced the old Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium, which was demolished at the end of the 2015–2016 season.
The playing surface is a hybrid grass pitch, fitted with a ground heating system to keep the grass in good condition during the winter months.
The venue has seen several identity changes over the years. It opened under one name, then shifted to another, and eventually settled as Papara Park under the broader Şenol Güneş Spor Kompleksi banner. The official capacity sits around 41,000, though this number has shifted slightly as seating configurations were adjusted over time.
