The place is defined by what is inside. It faces the pitch, which is natural grass, and the sky.

The capacity is 6,500; other sources speak of 6,000 or 7,000. It is the home of Avenir Sportif de La Marsa, which was founded in 1930, so the ground has had a tenant for nearly a century even if the club’s history is not always recorded in the stadium itself. The venue was originally called Stade de la Marsa before the renaming. The exact year it opened is uncertain; one unverified source claims 1956, but the date is not confirmed.

It has hosted semi-finals of the Tunisian Cup, such as the match between AS Marsa and Club Africain on 20 August 2016, and youth tournaments, including the third-place match of the UNAF U-20 Women's Tournament. The place does not pretend to be anything more than it is: a local ground in a northern suburb of Tunis.
