War Memorial Sports Ground

The War Memorial Sports Ground has a capacity of 5,000, with only 240 seats, and the surface is the bright green of an artificial pitch that replaced the natural turf for the 2015/16 season. It was built as a memorial to members of Carshalton Athletic F.C. who died in the First World War, and the club moved into the ground during the 1920–21 season, with its first recorded match taking place on 1 January 1921 against Thornville in the Sutton Hospital Charity Cup.

In 2000, the clubhouse was destroyed in an arson attack during a period of financial difficulty, and a planned £12 million rebuild in the early 2000s did not proceed. The club's best run in the FA Cup came in the 1982–83 season, reaching the Second Round Proper, while a famous 3–1 victory over Lincoln City in the FA Trophy in the 2011–12 season remains a highlight. The highest recorded attendance was 7,800 spectators during a London Senior Cup match against Wimbledon in January 1959, which Carshalton Athletic won 2–1.
