African Championship Women 2024/25

The African Women's Handball Champions League stands as the premier club competition for women's handball on the continent, organized by the African Handball Confederation (CAHB). It operates as the highest tier in the continental club pyramid, with spots reserved for the winners of national club championships and select CAHB invitations.

The tournament was established in 1979, with the first edition staged in Cairo, Egypt, and claimed by Al Ahly SC. While it runs annually, logistical hurdles and global events have occasionally paused the schedule. The structure has adapted over time; the 2024 edition hosted in Morocco brought together 12 teams split into two groups of six. The leading four sides from each group progressed to a knockout phase featuring quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final.

Angolan side Petro Atlético holds the record for success, securing the title 19 times by the end of the 2023/2024 season. This haul includes a long run of consecutive victories. They retained their crown in 2024, beating Tunisia's ASF Sahel 35–30 in the decisive match. Other notable contenders include Angola's 1º de Agosto, Egypt's Al Ahly, and Congo's Étoile du Congo.

The competition is distinct from the African Women's Handball Championship, which serves national teams on a biennial basis. It also differs from regional sub-confederation events like the WAFU Zone B championship, as it draws participants from across the entire African mainland. There is no traditional promotion or relegation; entry relies on domestic performance or continental invitation.
