The away side had already taken two points from their opening fixture and extended that run with a comfortable win in Zurich. Both sides remain unbeaten, each with four points from two matches, though Kadetten now lead the table on ranking criteria.
Zurich started the campaign with back-to-back victories, including a 35:29 win over RTV Basel and a 34:32 result against Pratteln. They looked comfortable in those matches before facing the league leaders. The hosts played well for stretches but Kadetten's pace in transition proved too much, and they let the tie slip in the closing stages.
Kadetten's form has been consistent. After beating Vacker Thun 42:35 and crushing Zuer Aarau 28:20, they carried that momentum into the Zurich fixture. The visitors were dominant from the opening whistle, controlling the tempo and punishing any defensive mistakes. To be fair, Zurich's attack was not without threat, but Kadetten's defence held firm when it mattered.
The result extends Kadetten's dominance over their Swiss rivals. They had already beaten Zurich twice earlier this year — 27:31 and 25:36 in April — and the pattern repeated. By then, Kadetten had established themselves as the team to beat in the NLA, and this result only reinforced that impression. Three wins from three meetings this season says everything about their current standing.
For Zurich, the defeat is a setback but not a crisis. They remain second on the table with four points and still have everything to play for. The gap between first and second is minimal at this stage, and one win could change the hierarchy. The challenge now is finding consistency against the top sides.
