About the player
Edwin Cabezas came through Fortaleza FC's own academy, having previously spent his early development years with Juventud Soacha in the Bogotá area. He moved up to the club's U20 side before joining the senior squad in January 2025. His first-team debut arrived on 28 July 2025, when he started at right-back in a 2-2 draw away to Alianza Petrolera in the Categoría Primera A.
Cabezas made six league appearances and one in the Copa Colombia during that debut season, still without a goal to his name. In January 2026, he moved on loan to Real Cundinamarca in the Categoría Primera B, spending the first half of the year in the second tier before returning to Fortaleza in July 2026. Back at his parent club, he added two more appearances in the following months.
He plays as a right-back and wears the number 4 shirt, though he has also featured with number 5. Cabezas is right-footed, and while some outside sources list him as taller and heavier, Fortaleza's own club site puts him at 180 cm and 74 kg.
He has not yet featured for Colombia at senior international level.
