About the player
Ítalo Montaño Cortés was born in San Andrés de Tumaco. A second Portuguese stint followed at Leixões, with another loan spell at Olhanense, before he moved on again — this time to Croatia, signing for NK Sesvete on a free transfer.
Since then, Montaño's career has kept moving rather than settling. From Sesvete he went to Argentina's Defensores Unidos, then to Birkirkara in Malta, on to Dingnan United in China, and from there to Tai Po in Hong Kong — all free transfers. He returned to Colombian football with Boyacá Chicó, wearing the number 7 shirt and scoring in back-to-back months at the start of 2026.
