About the player
Narumi Miura made her name in Japan's Nadeshiko League before her move to the NWSL. She came up through Fujimidai FC and NPO FC Persimmon in elementary school before joining the Tokyo Verdy Menina youth academy in 2010. She earned a place in the Nadeshiko League Best XI in 2019 and the WE League Outstanding Player Award for the 2021–22 season.
Her move to the United States began in February 2023 with North Carolina Courage, where she won the NWSL Challenge Cup that year. She left as a free agent and signed with Washington Spirit in December 2024, winning a second Challenge Cup title with the club in 2025 before a trade brought her to Utah Royals.
Internationally, Miura has been part of Japan's age-group success, winning the AFC U-16 Women's Championship in 2013 and the AFC U-19 Women's Championship in 2015, and finishing third at the 2016 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. She made her senior debut for Japan on 10 June 2018 against New Zealand and has gone on to appear at the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Her most recent honour came with the senior side at the 2025 SheBelieves Cup, where Japan beat the United States 2-1 in the final.
