Pablo Enrique Ruiz

Comodoro Rivadavia does not produce many footballers who make it to Major League Soccer, but Pablo Enrique Ruiz did it the long way round. He started out at CAI in his hometown before moving to the San Lorenzo academy in 2014, where he spent three years without a senior appearance. His professional debut came instead in Chile, with San Luis de Quillota in 2017, and within months Real Salt Lake signed him as a free agent.

The path through MLS was not direct either. RSL sent him out on loan twice to their USL Championship side, Real Monarchs, and he was part of the squad that won the 2019 USL Championship title. A further loan took him to FC Pinzgau Saalfelden in the Austrian Regionalliga West, a spell cut short when the 2019/20 season was suspended.

Ruiz returned to Real Salt Lake full-time after his loans and stayed there through the 2025 season. The moment that stands out from his time at the club came in 2021, when he scored from inside his own half in a game against D.C. United.

Internationally, he represented Argentina at U17 level, winning a silver medal at the 2015 South American Championship and playing at the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup, where he scored twice in ten appearances. He is eligible for Chile through family ties but has not been capped by either country's senior side.

In September 2026, Ruiz left Real Salt Lake for Los Angeles Galaxy, closing out a spell at RSL that had lasted since 2018.
