About the player
Philipp Offenthaler grew up through the Austrian youth system, moving between TSV Grein, AKA St. Pölten and SG Waidhofen/Ybbs before starting his senior career at SCU Ardagger, where he was named Austrian Amateur Player of the Year in 2016. That performance earned him a free move to SV Wacker Burghausen in the German Regionalliga Bayern, before he returned home to join SKN St. Pölten's second team.
The defender signed for SKU Amstetten on a free transfer in May 2018, stepping into the club's 2. Liga squad for the 2018–19 season. What followed was a long, steady spell at the back for Amstetten: Offenthaler has since made more than 150 official appearances for the club. Every move of his senior career, in fact, has been a free transfer.
His individual recognition has continued alongside that consistency, with a Bruno Gala award for Amateur Player of the Season adding to the honour he picked up at Ardagger. Team silverware has not come his way at senior level, but he recently extended his contract with the club through to 2027.
