About the player
Samir Mayo's route to Colombian professional football ran through Independiente Medellín, where he made his senior debut in 2023. The following year brought a loan to Orsomarso SC, and it was there, wearing the captain's armband, that he led the side to the final of the Primera B, a campaign that ended in defeat to Llaneros FC on penalties.
Mayo returned to Independiente Medellín at the start of 2025 before joining La Equidad that July, a club that was rebranded Internacional de Bogotá later in the year. His first season there stands as the busiest of his career to date, with 37 appearances and three goals, the best of them a brace against América de Cali in April 2025 that earned him the figure of the match. He stayed on with Internacional de Bogotá through the first half of 2026 before a loan move to Cúcuta Deportivo that July, where he has since made four appearances.
From Apartadó, Mayo has yet to add a league title or individual honour to his career record. Cúcuta Deportivo is his latest stop while his registration remains with Internacional de Bogotá.
