About the player
William Osula's breakthrough came in the FA Cup rather than the league. On loan at Derby County from Sheffield United, he scored his first senior goals there, including a brace against Torquay United, and later added another double against Gillingham once back at Sheffield United, followed by a further goal against Brighton in the same competition — all before he had managed to open his account in the league itself.
Sent to Derby for the 2022–23 season, he returned with five goals in 21 appearances across all competitions. He also collected a Professional Development League U21 title with the club's development side.
Newcastle United paid an initial £10 million, rising to a potential £15 million, to sign him in August 2024. He has since won the EFL Cup with the club.
Osula's football education began at FC Copenhagen before he moved to England to join Sheffield United's academy, where he progressed through the youth ranks before making his professional debut in March 2022. He has since been capped by Denmark at U19, U21 and senior level.
