The 2026/2027 season is the first that Aurum Gorzów Wielkopolski plays under its new name, with Michał Nieradko as coach. The club was sold to a private investor in late 2024 or early 2025, and the rebrand came after that. Aurum is Latin for gold, and the club says the word stands for resilience. The colours stay yellow and blue, and so does the current nickname, the Yellow-and-Blues.

Resilience has a basis in the club's history. Handball arrived in the multi-sport club Stal in 1985, when the section was transferred from AZS-AWF Gorzów Wielkopolski. It went straight into the Ekstraklasa and stayed there until 1988. In 1986 it finished third in the Polish Cup, and in 1988 it lost the final. Zygmunt Jakubik took charge in 1987 and stayed until 1991. In 1989/1990 the team finished second in its I Liga group. The section was dissolved in 1991 and passed to Sokół Gorzów Wielkopolski. It did not return under its own banner until 2014.

The second start came from the bottom. The club won the III Liga in 2014/2015 and the II Liga a year later, then reached the I Liga. It finished second there in 2016/2017 and again in 2018/2019. In the promotion season, GKS Żukowo was named the most dangerous rival. Antoni Zając and Cezary Marciniak are among the players of that recent period.

The everyday home is a school sports hall with 645 seats. Arena Gorzów, which holds 5,191, is used only for occasional matches. The club has no handball rival in its own city. The nearest opponent worth the name, GKS Żukowo, is about 250 km away.
