Dvsc Women

Nobody else has managed it: DVSC won the EHF Cup Winners' Cup in 1994–95 and then won it again in 1995–96, and it is still the only team to have defended that trophy. Debrecen lost the final in 1989–90 and again in 1991–92, and were runners-up in the EHF Cup in 1993–94.

Much of that European run was built by Ákos Komáromi, who coached the side from 1982 to 1990 and again from 1991 to 1994. The Hungarian Cup came to Debrecen in 1985, 1987 and 1988, then in 1989–90 and 1990–91. The only other championship dates from 1955.

From 1979 to 1989 the handball section was merged with DMTE and played as DMVSC in blue and yellow. When the club was re-established in 1989 it went back to red and white. It has not dropped out of the top flight since it first reached it in 1979.

Scoring records tell of the same era. Mária Jeddi scored 1,045 league goals in 255 appearances, and Tünde Nyilas holds the appearance record with 329. The current coach is Zoltán Szilágyi, in charge since 2021. Home games are played at the Hódos Imre Sportcsarnok, which gained 500 seats in a 2017 renovation and now holds 2,250.

The nickname Loki comes from Lokomotív, the name the section carried between 1949 and 1955. The name has outlived every merger.
