«MHB»
For matches that outgrow it, the club moves to the Sud de France Arena, which holds around 9,000 and is kept for the bigger European nights.
It was part of the club in its early years, then split off in 1989 when the parent organisation left the Montpellier Paillade SC umbrella, with the players moving to Montpellier Université Club before a women's section was rebuilt inside Montpellier Handball. That rebuilding took a decisive turn in July 2026, when the club folded in Handball Féminin Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, an independent project Céline Allègre had set up in 2016 to give girls in the metropolitan area a pathway into high-level handball. Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole backed the merger with a €250,000 subsidy, and the target attached to it — reaching Division 2 — arrived ahead of schedule.
Laurent Puigségur took over as head coach in June 2026. He is not a name attached to the project from outside: he played for MHB and won 20 titles in that shirt. Océane Villalonga assists him, and among the players, Maëlle Gabaston stands out as a product of the club's own academy rather than a signing.
Blue and white are the colours now, a change from the violet and black the HBF3M project wore before the merger.
