BrewDog Stadium
St Helens, United Kingdom
Formerly: Langtree Park, Totally Wicked Stadium
The ground sits in a flat industrial quarter where the buildings are low and the roads wide, so the stadium does not disappear into the skyline. What you see from the air is a ring of white steel trusses that form the roof over the stands. The work is exposed, as if the structure were meant to be looked at from above as much as from the seats.
The stands themselves are plain. The south end carries red cladding, and behind that is a bar area that was updated as part of a brewery partnership. The other three sides are lighter, with the same white framework continuing around the corners. The pitch is striped green, and the hybrid surface shows the parallel lines clearly under a bright sky.
A bronze statue of a player running with the ball stands near the entrance. He wears a long-sleeved shirt and shorts, and his face is turned forward as if he is about to hand off the ball.
St Helens R.F.C. moved here in 2012, and the club has stayed ever since. The pitch was upgraded for Liverpool F.C. Women in 2024, and the stadium has hosted international rugby league matches and a few concerts when the crowd went beyond what the regular schedule calls for.
