Centre sportif du Kochersberg

The ground sits on the edge of the village, with the only sign of the town’s presence being the school block and the parking lot.

The stadium itself is a modest oval structure with a single running track separating the stands from the grass. The floodlights are fitted to the corners of the track rather than towering above the crowd, which means the glare is limited and the darkness falls evenly across the pitch. The surface is natural grass, and it often wears unevenly in the centre circle from the weight of the players.

The complex has held its place in the community for more than twenty years, originally built to serve the children of the commune before expanding into a professional venue. The handball team moved into the main hall when the municipal authority decided to expand the facility, which brought a different kind of noise to the building. The football club, which has played on these grounds since the new complex was completed, now uses the smaller synthetic pitch for training sessions during the winter months.

The stadium is currently closed for renovation work, with scaffolding visible around the main stand and the new roof structure taking shape. The track is covered with protective sheeting, and the access gate is locked. The tennis courts remain open for local use, and the sound of balls hitting the clay continues despite the work on the main ground.
