Čukarički Stadium
Belgrade, Serbia
Formerly: Stadion na Banovom brdu
The Stadion Čukaričkog is a ground in Belgrade. It is not a place that has tried to forget its origins. The club that occupies it, FK Čukarički , has played here since 1926, and the ground itself dates to 1969.
What makes the place distinct is the renovation, but not the kind that replaces a building so completely it no longer looks like itself. Between 2012 and 2013 the ground was converted to an all-seater configuration under the direction of the club's owner, the construction company ADOC. The work added a new covered West Stand and updated the East Stand, while the capacity was adjusted to 4,070. It is a modest number for a club that plays in the Serbian SuperLiga.
The pitch is natural grass, 105m by 68m, and the floodlights were installed in August 2013. There is no running track and no undersoil heating. The stands are separated from the pitch by advertising boards.
It has hosted no national team matches or major finals, and the attendance record is not a matter of public record.
