Hala Trzynastka

The building at ul. Tadeusza Rejtana 1 sits alongside Primary School No. 13. The hall takes its name, Hala Trzynastka, from the institution's number. It is not the city's main arena. That honour belongs to Hala Trapez im. Zbigniewa Białasa, a larger venue for different events.

Inside, the space is defined by its floor. It is a wooden parquet surface, or parkiet, laid flat and ready for players. The capacity is not recorded in the available documentation, and the year the hall first opened its doors remains unclear. The focus is entirely on the sport played within.

This is the home of the handball club MKS Real-Astromal Leszno. The team, formerly known as Arot Astromal Leszno, plays in the Polish First League (I liga). They play here. The hall is operated by the Miejski Ośrodek Sportu i Rekreacji w Lesznie, or MOSiR Leszno, which manages local sports facilities. It is a functional space for court sports, distinct from the speedway stadium that also shares the city's sporting landscape. When the players step onto the parquet, the surroundings fade; the only thing that matters is the game being played out on the floor.
