The IBF Arena in Ikast sits quietly at the end of Stadion Allé 2b. You arrive, you park, and you go inside.
Opened in 1968, the structure has survived three decades of changing architectural tastes. It was designed by Friis & Moltke, a firm that knew how to build for function rather than flash.
The arena belongs to the handball club Ikast Håndbold, who have called it home since 2014. Before that, it was Ikast Hallen, and before that, Sportscenter Ikast.
The capacity sits at 2,850, split between seated areas and standing zones. The wooden floor is the only surface that matters here. There is no grass underfoot, no turf to worry about.
A renovation in 2004 modernised the facilities without altering the shell. The complex now includes a fitness centre and additional halls, but the main arena remains the heart of the operation.
