Installatøren Arena
Gamle Fredrikstad, Norway
Formerly: Kongstenhallen
Installatøren Arena has lived through a transformation. For years it was known as Kongstenhallen, a name that stuck until the summer of 2024. Then the electrical company Installatøren Gruppen AS bought the naming rights, and the doors opened under a new title.
It sits at Torsnesveien 12. The building is an indoor multi-purpose arena, not a football stadium. People coming from outside the city often assume it belongs to the more famous football club in town, but this ground has served a different purpose for longer.
Fredrikstad BK, a club founded in 2001, calls it home. The semi-professional players who train here have access to a facility that also hosts swimming events for Kongstensvømmerne and various local exhibitions. The capacity shifts depending on how the space is arranged — up to 4,500 people if you count every seat — though the exact number changes with each configuration.
There is confusion elsewhere about this venue. Some records link it to the football club that plays at a different ground entirely, a mistake born from two teams sharing the same city name. That error is not something the arena itself can correct; it simply continues its work on Torsnesveien, hosting matches, workshops, and whatever else the community asks of it. The name change was not a renovation or a rebuild. It was a business decision, and the building itself remains largely unchanged.
