Interfjord Arena
Skive, Denmark
Formerly: Skivehallerne
The Interfjord Arena in Skive is not a football ground. The venue sits at Skyttevej 2. It is the home of the handball club Skive fH, which plays on a wooden parquet floor. The capacity for their matches is 1,080 seats.
The building has an uneven life. Hall A opened in 1968, constructed with heavy volunteer labour. A second hall, Hall B, followed in 1981 and brought 1,500 spectator seats before the current figures were settled. The most recent addition, Hall C, was completed in 2017 specifically for the handball team.
Since 2020 the entire site has carried the name KulturCenter Skive. The arena itself was renamed Interfjord Arena in 2018 after the transport company INTERFJORD signed a sponsorship agreement with Kulturcenter Limfjord. Skive IK plays at Hancock Arena, a separate outdoor stadium with a natural grass surface that dates back to 1944.
There is a slight disagreement over the exact numbers. The Danish Wikipedia lists the handball capacity at 1,080, while another source suggests a general venue capacity of 2,100. The distinction matters when a team is playing at home. They come to watch the game unfold on the parquet.
