İyidere Spor Salonu

The İyidere Spor Salonu is not a grand arena. Opened in 2016 by the construction firm Alan Yapı, the venue sits quietly on İkizdere Cad. and has never carried a sponsor’s name. The hall is best known for handball. Güneysuspor, a men’s team based nearby in Güneysu, plays its home matches here despite the separate district location. The squad competes in the Turkish Men’s Handball Super League after finishing second in the 1. League the previous season. Capacity is limited to 500 spectators, a number confirmed by local reporting before the doors opened. There is no attendance record to point to. Before the handball teams arrived, the hall hosted youth volleyball tournaments. The hall has remained consistent in purpose since then. A new multi-purpose facility is currently under construction in İyidere as of 2025, part of a wider development project. Its specifications have not been released, and it does not yet affect the current operations of the existing hall. The older venue continues to operate without change, serving the teams that play within it.
