Kigali Pelé Stadium
Kigali, Rwanda
Formerly: Nyamirambo Regional Stadium, Stade Régional de Kigali, Stade de Kigali
The ground sits in the Nyamirambo part of Kigali.
It was once called the Nyamirambo Regional Stadium, though that name has since vanished. The renovation that brought the new name began in 2023, funded by FIFA for the pitch and the local government for the structure. The matchday picture shows the bright green of artificial turf, uniform and unbroken.
The mood inside can change quickly.
The national team, Amavubi, also calls it a home. When the lights went out in August 2024 due to a generator failure, the game had to wait, but the stadium itself remains a constant. It is not a grand opera house, but a working ground for football in the capital, where the players run and the city watches.
