The Pabellón Municipal de San Bartolomé sits quietly on Calle Pío XII, far from the tourist routes of Lanzarote. It is not the Estadio San Bartolomé in Navarra or the stadium in Gran Canaria; it is a working hall for local sport. Home to CB Zonzamas Plus Car, the pavilion hosts the handball team in the División de Honor Plata Femenina, but wrestling and petanque share the parquet floor too.

The roof has been the subject of attention, with leaks reported in 2018 leading to a tender for renovation work in early 2025. The Cabildo Insular de Lanzarote is financing the project under the Municipal Cooperation Plan 2022-2025.

The maintenance of the roof is a practical concern, one that affects the daily life of the athletes who use the space.
