Pala Acradina
Syracuse, Italy
The primary sports venue in the Acradina district is the PalaLoBello, a facility that has hosted major events such as the EHF Final Four. Its parquet floor has long been noted as lacking elasticity, a defect that renovation works were intended to address. These improvements, however, have been stalled by legal appeals, leaving the arena in limbo. Consequently, ASD Albatro Siracusa, a local handball and volleyball club, have moved their home games to a smaller gymnasium known as the Pala Acradina. This venue is located separately from the main Cittadella dello Sport complex. The smaller gymnasium is named after Pino Corso, a figure prominent in local sport. Unlike the main arena, details about this secondary facility are sparse. No records exist for its capacity or when it was first built. The figures of 2,700 seats and a 1994 opening date belong to the PalaLoBello, not this modest replacement ground. The main arena remains closed to the public while disputes over the renovation continue.
