PalaSangiorgio

For a sports venue in Molteno, serving H.C. San Giorgio Molteno in cup football, the PalaSangiorgio is defined more by what happens inside than by any grand exterior. It is not a place where one expects to see a skyline of stands; instead, the attention turns to the pitch and the players.

The arena was built by the local Oratory under the direction of Don Carlo Ambrosoni to allow the handball team to play in Serie A following their promotion in 1984. The facility was renovated and made available by the Parish of Molteno and the Municipality of Molteno around 2021. While the original opening year is not explicitly stated in sources, the facility was in use by 1984.

The surface is an indoor sports floor, typical for handball and volleyball. The venue has hosted Serie A playoff matches, including games against Metelli Cologne and Camerano, as well as finals of local school handball tournaments and visits by Italian National Handball Team players.

The arena is also used by the volleyball team Monge-Gerbaudo Savigliano for home matches during the 2024/2025 season. No former names or sponsorship-related renamings were found; it is consistently referred to as PalaSangiorgio or Pala San Giorgio. The official website of the primary tenant is https://hcmolteno.it/.

The venue has a capacity of 1000 spectators, but the focus remains on the players and the game.

The arena is located at Viale Stazione, Molteno (LC).
