Pilatus Arena: Stadium in Kriens

The Pilatus Arena in Kriens does not pretend to be anything other than what it is: a modern hall for domestic sport. The address, Am Mattenhof 12, is printed above the entrance doors, though the building’s own sign uses the number 3.

Inside, the space is defined by capacity and utility. The figures are not agreed upon: some sources cite 4,060 seats, while the developer TEDAMOS lists 4,500. The difference does not matter for the game being played. The arena opened on October 25, 2025, with a handball match between Kriens-Luzern and HSC Suhr Aarau.

The structure replaced the older Sporthalle Maihof. The investment exceeded 200 million Swiss francs, a sum that bought a facility able to host basketball, volleyball, and indoor football as well as handball.
