Raasiku spordihoone
Raasiku, Estonia
The Raasiku spordihoone is an indoor hall that shares its grounds with a basic school. The school uses the facility for lessons and exercises while it is open, and the municipality makes it available for evening training afterwards.
HC Raasiku, which plays under the name Raasiku/Mistra, calls this place home. They take part in the Estonian Meistriliiga and the Baltic Handball League, and HC Tallas from Tallinn also stages matches here under the Tallinna Mistra name. The movable stands hold 480 spectators.
The floor is Canadian maple parquet set on battens with rubber shock pads underneath. It is built to handle handball, but the same surface works for basketball, volleyball, floorball, badminton and tennis. A basement gym and two smaller studios sit beside the main hall, but the big space is where the action happens. The hall opened in September 2018 after a construction period that started in March that same year.
The first big competition held here was an Estonian Cup match between HC Kehra and Põlva Serviti. It has hosted youth tournaments for the Estonian Men's Handball Championships (U12, U14, U15) since then. The building is owned by Raasiku vald and managed in partnership with the school. There is no separate website for the hall itself; information comes through the municipality's sports page. The hall sits at Meierei 27 in Raasiku alevik.
