Sporthalle Oberstadt: Stadium in Mainz

The Sporthalle Oberstadt sits at the heart of the Gymnasium Mainz-Oberstadt. The building is not a standalone arena; it is part of a campus that has grown around the needs of its community. A new sports hall appeared in the structure around 2019, part of a wider expansion that gave the school its current form by 2023.

The hall serves primarily as a base for two teams under 1. FSV Mainz 05: the table tennis squad and the women’s handball side. The surface is standard for indoor handball and basketball, though the specifics of the flooring are not recorded in public records.

The address on the door may vary depending on which source you ask, but the location remains fixed in the Oberstadt district. It hosts the 22. International Gutenberg-Pokal acrobatics tournament, a reminder that the space is used for more than just the two main teams.
