Sporthalle Rossmoos
Emmen, Switzerland
Sporthalle Rossmoos is a functional triple hall in Emmen, Canton of Lucerne, that has seen more than four decades of use. The building opened in 1982.
The ground distinguishes itself through longevity and a specific local function. This hall remains largely as it was, primarily serving Handball Emmen. That club, a merger from 2009, plays here regularly.
What makes the venue different from a modern equivalent is its condition. Described as dilapidated, it contrasts sharply with the planned future. The municipality intends to replace it with a new Sport- und Eventhalle, scheduled for construction around 2039.
