Sportovní hala Baník Most
Most, Czechia
The Sportovní hala Baník Most does not announce itself.
It is a place that does not keep its history in stone. The work cost approximately 250 million CZK. It is operated by SPORTOVNÍ AREÁLY MOST, a.s., a company wholly owned by the City of Most since 1998. The architect David Zaplatil is listed in records of the Czech Chamber of Architects for the project, but no builder’s name survives in the public record.
The hall holds 1,400 spectators. It is the home of the women’s handball club DHK Baník Most, and on September 7, 2019, it hosted a semi-final of the EHF Champions League qualifying round against Rocasa Gran Canaria. The highest recorded attendance for a single match stands at 1,002 spectators, set during a 2019–20 Women’s EHF Cup group stage game. Concerts, including performances by Marie Rottrová in 2023 and the band Harlej, have also used the space.
The playing surface is not specified in any available source.
